A group of leading climate scientists from over 40 countries involved with the newly formed International Climate Science Coalition have signed the Manhattan Declaration on Climate Change. This is an attempt by these scientists to bring into focus the unnecessary hysteria regarding severe climate change. From the Declaration:

“Attempts by governments to legislate costly regulations on industry and individual citizens to encourage CO2 reduction will slow development while having no appreciable impact on the future trajectory of global climate change.  Such policies will markedly diminish future prosperity and so reduce the ability of societies to adapt to inevitable climate change, thereby increasing, not decreasing human suffering.”

The key here is the statement regarding human suffering which they are stating will be increased instead of decreased with regulations that are currently proposed.

The report is a good attempt to bring some rationalization to an area that is out of control with far too much media coverage weighing in on the side of “Global Warming”

Manhattan Declaration on Climate Change

The Sun has gone into an unusual lull in sunspot activity in the last 2 years and it has some scientists quite concerned.  Between 1650 – 1700 the sun once went 50 years without activity and produced a “Little Ice Age” These scientists are worried that this could be the beginning to a similar trend. Too early to tell perhaps, but there are some interesting comments in this report. Apparently between January 2007 and 2008 the temperature has dropped 0.7C. So much for Global Warming.

Too early to tell perhaps, but interesting in the fact that the lack of sunspot activity is correlating with the drop in temperature. One scientist from Australia notes:

“This is the fastest temperature change in the instrumental record, and it puts us back to where we were in 1930,” Dr Chapman noted in The Australian recently.

About 5 years ago the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute released a report about what they believed to be evidence of global cooling. Did Al Gore read this I wonder before he started his campaign? I don’t think so.

I remember this report. It states some evidence of the oceans becoming less salty in Northern Hemispheres, and saltier in Southern Hemispheres. The overall report “suggests” the possibility of global cooling, however it states quite emphatically that there is not enough evidence to prove this theory or that of global warming. The problem is that in order to prove it alot of data has to be collected and it is very hard to do this with limited resources.

Are We on the Brink of a ‘New Little Ice Age?’

This video of Glenn Beck from a year ago says it better than most that I’ve seen. It’s pretty convincing in the fact that Al Gore has painted his own canvas in bringing Global Warming to the masses and done so while twisting the facts to paint that picture with much deeper hues.

Global Cooling Hoax Video

There is a very good article that was released today by David Solway on the FrontpageMagazine website. He goes into great detail regarding the Global Warming issues that we are innundated with on a daily basis.

He points out ” the trouble is that the “science” involved is highly debatable insofar as it has been commandeered by a political crusade whose underlying purposes are distressingly suspicious.”

I can gree with him that neither side can make a clear cut statement that points that we are either heating up or cooling down, but he does write about the cult like stance of the global warmers a.ka. environmentalist movement. One interesting statement he came up with from Czech President Vaclav Klaus:

author of the soon-to-be-translated Blue Planet in Green Chains, is on the mark when he warns of the irrationality of the bullish “global warming” industry: “As someone who lived under communism for most of his life, I feel obliged to say that I see the biggest threat to freedom, democracy, the market economy and prosperity now in ambitious environmentalism . . . Let us not scare ourselves with catastrophic forecasts, or use them to defend and promote irrational interventions in human lives” (Financial Times, June 14, 2007.

Wow, the news just keeps rolling along and backs up what I have felt for a long time. NASA’s Inspector General announced findings that said that NASA public affairs office distorted information regarding climate change for the last 2 years.

This story is a must read for anyone who has doubts about Global Warming. The report comes from the Washington Post:

That’s what long time Hurricane Forecaster Harry Gray told attendees at the 2008 International Conference On Climate Change on March 4th.

“We should begin to see cooling coming on,” Gray said. “I’m willing to make a big financial bet on it. In 10 years, I expect the globe to be somewhat cooler than it is now, because this ocean effect will dominate over the human-induced CO₂ effect and I believe the solar effect and the land-use effect. I think this is likely bigger.”

He went on to state that he felt NASA scientist and Global Warming alarmist James Hansen was an “egregious abuser of data”.

Famed Hurricane Forecaster William Gray Predicts Global Cooling in 10 Years

Well, the stories keep coming in and this one is very interesting. It appears that North Koeans as the title says are facing a food crisis. You would automatically think, well, must be they are experiencing drought conditions because of Global Warming right? Wrong my friend. The Associated Press ran this story a couple of weeks ago, reporting on how the record low temperatures are directly effecting crop yields there.

North Korea’s average high temperature in May has been about 5.4 degrees Fahrenheit lower than in previous years, with temperatures in northern parts of the nation dipping below the freezing point, the official Korean Central News Agency said.

Dr. Barrett Duke, vice president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission is leading a movement stating that there is not enough evidence to validate the claims made by scientists and that the banning of emmisons does more harm primarily to the lives of poor people than it does good.

I find this article very interesting and a very strong opinionated perspective on the Global Warming issue.

Christians Launch Campaign against Global Warming Hype

You read that right. The Army Research Office has come out with a statement that says it’s not man that has caused the warmer temperatures. Their conclusion is that the Sun is the culprit. It’s solar fluctuations that have been the chief factor. The study finds that the sun could be responsible for up to 69% increase in the earth’s average temperature.
